A Few Things...

More new photos over at my Flickr site, Pumpkin decorating fun!

Maya and I are making green slime eyeball cupcakes and spider cupcakes for a halloween "get together" we are going to.

Maya and I finally got all the thank you cards done, for the kids who went to her party. Now all we have to do is send them! She did really, really well writing all the names and what she was thanking them for, and signing her name. So cute. She even added stickers to the envelopes.

Tomorrow is my first day "on the job" watching my friend's baby girl while she goes back to work. Life is about to get a little more hectic but I love it that way... most of the time!

I have decided that Monday nights are officially "family game nights" and Friday nights are "family movie nights."

Last but not least... we did not win the powerball. Bah. I knew that was a waste of 2 dollars.

Maya's birthday party was a HUGE success. All the kiddos had a great time! They decorated their goody bags, ate some good food, decorated their cupcakes, played games, won tickets and prizes, it was awesome. Everything went so smoothly even I was shocked!! I have not put any party photos up yet but I will soon.

So I was thinking about maybe becoming a creative memories consultant. For those of you who don't know what that is, it's selling scrapbook supplies and teaching workshops and doing parties... very similar to a tupperware kind of set up. I love scrapbooking, and we really need some extra money. Has anyone done this or know anyone who does? Pros? Cons? I need to really think about this, because it does cost some money to start up... we'll have to see what happens.

Well, the housework isn't going to do itself so I suppose I should get at it. We're having friends over for dinner tonight, so... lots to do!

October Musings

It's already afternoon and I am still in my jammies. Must take shower. Must get motivated to "start" my day. Why is it that I don't feel like my day has started unless I am showered and dressed?

Maya is being a Pirate for halloween! I'm so excited. I always let her pick, and - no offense to cheerleaders or former cheerleaders - This is so much better than what she picked last year. We already have the pirate hat, a clip on hoop earing, a sword, an eye patch, a hook, and face paints for the mustache and goatee. We still need black pants, a blousy looking shirt, and a red shash belt looking thing.

Wow... this is going to be a fun month. Maya's birthday party, her 2 family parties, we get to go trick or treating twice (once here the sat. before halloween and once on halloween night at her grandparents house), and her friend down the street is having a halloween party. We're also visiting a friend's relatives working farm, and the pumpkin patch of course. I love October!! and it isn't even HERE yet!!

Speaking of halloween, I bought some decorations for outside that I can't wait to put out...

Man I am in SUCH a good mood now just thinking about all of this that I think I will go get my shower and then head out to get myself a yummy pumpkin spice latte. Mmm Mmm good.

Thank You and Other Exciting... Things

First of all, I want to say thank you for the comments and support regarding Rascal. I sat down to email you gals who left me comments, but I really didn't want to talk about it... well, write about it I guess... so, I didn't. I really apreciate the support though.

Anywaaaaay... I mailed out Maya's birthday party invitations today. Now I get to spend some time coming up with cool ideas for games or activities for her "outer space" party. I'm welcome to suggestions if anyone has any!

In other exciting news, I cleaned the house today. Wow, I really don't have anything exciting to blog about right now, do I? Ho-Hum. Maybe the next entry will be more... exciting. Ha.

Fredster, Fall, and Five Years Old

We took Freddy to the vet on Friday. Turns out he is not 4 or 5 years old. He is at least 7 or 8 years old. I kind of had a feeling he had to be older. Oh well... we still love Fast Freddy!

Fall is on it's way, and I am actually pretty happy about this! I love going to pumpkin patches, raking leaves, watching Maya play in the leaves, playing in the leaves myself, halloween, apple cider, pumpkin pie. Cooler weather but not too cold... all the pretty colors of the trees. I think this year we are going to take a drive to get some really great views. There are a couple of awesome locations not too far from us, mountains and what not. I am a little sad that summer is almost over, but I have a feeling it will be another warmer Fall.

Speaking of Fall... Maya's birthday is so, so soon, I better get my butt moving on her party! There's been a change in plans for this. We are having her party at my neighbors house. They are really good friends of ours, and they have a huge house and no dogs. I have a lot of fun planning to do, because this means I have to come up with games and entertainment and food and all that fun stuff. My neighbor is awesome, she loves parties and craziness and this is going to be cool. I have so many awesome ideas! First I need to get those invitations out!

I can't believe my baby is going to be five. Sigh.

Remember this post a few days back, where I said I had the bad feeling? I said it would be something where or near to where I live? I mentioned fire as one possible scenario, and honestly, it was what I was pretty much thinking all along.

Last night I had it again, really bad. I could not sleep. I finally went to bed at around 1:30 AM, and woke up at around 3:45 to fire whistles from our local fire station. They kept going off. Then I heard more from other stations in the area, then I heard the trucks racing down my street. I was feeling.. well, I can't even describe it. I went out to my front porch and saw they were all going over the bridge that's down the street from me. Right over that bridge, if you turn right, behind my house and the houses on my street, there's a road back there with other little side streets. It was obvious something was going on there. I sat on my front porch, and I felt like I was going insane. I was so shaken up, and I did not know why!! I literally was shaking and almost could not breathe. I felt like such a psycho. I probably SOUND like one, too. This feeling was awful. The sirens kept coming, more and more emergency vehicles, I could here whistles from stations further away going off, too. I realized this had to be something big. I tried to go back to bed. Ended up staying awake for quite a while. I finally fell asleep and this morning I went online to check out the local news, to see If I could find anything out.

This is what I found out.

I am so,so upset by all of this. I don't even know what else to say. They have not released any names, so I don't even know yet If I know these people. Please keep them and their relatives and all who know them and all who are affected by this in your prayers.

Life

I'm really, really tired and going to bed, but I thought I'd make a quick update.

My friend Tanya had her baby! A healthy little girl. It was so, so amazing being there for the whole thing. She and baby Alyssa will be coming home tomorrow!! It's a pretty decent birth story so I will post more on that later.

Thank you for the sympathies about my grandma. Isn't it amazing how life works? While Tanya was at the hospital, I went out to make a few phone calls on my cell. A lady there started a conversation with me, and I told her all excited like that I was there because my best friend was about to have a baby. Then she tells me she is there because her mother is dying. That very night, one life was coming into the world as another one was leaving. I had a really weird feeling about it all. Still do a little bit, actually.

Well I am off to bed, more to come later I promise!  :)

Tired

You know how I said the bad feeling meant something would happen in my neighborhood, but it wouldn't involve family or someone I loved?

My Grandma passed away the other night. In Buffalo N.Y.

Looks like I was all backwards or something I guess.

Anyway, I am so, so, so, so, tired. I got enough sleep. I'm exhausted. I don't know what's up with that, other than I have been really stressed lately, and busy. Now, I'm just tired.
