Scraphappy
Not updating much lately, been pretty busy. Doing what, you say?
Why, Scrapbooking, of course.
The quality of these photos suck, trust me, the pages look a million times better in person, but... here ya go!

More new photos over at my Flickr site, Pumpkin decorating fun!
Maya and I are making green slime eyeball cupcakes and spider cupcakes for a halloween "get together" we are going to.
Maya and I finally got all the thank you cards done, for the kids who went to her party. Now all we have to do is send them! She did really, really well writing all the names and what she was thanking them for, and signing her name. So cute. She even added stickers to the envelopes.
Tomorrow is my first day "on the job" watching my friend's baby girl while she goes back to work. Life is about to get a little more hectic but I love it that way... most of the time!
I have decided that Monday nights are officially "family game nights" and Friday nights are "family movie nights."
Last but not least... we did not win the powerball. Bah. I knew that was a waste of 2 dollars.
From the birthday party, and some of Maya's room...
Maya got a tent and now she is on some kick where she wants to sleep in it instead of her bed. I figured, why not? We had to move things around in her room a little bit for the tent to fit in there, though. Haha. I love my kid! :)
Maya's birthday party was a HUGE success. All the kiddos had a great time! They decorated their goody bags, ate some good food, decorated their cupcakes, played games, won tickets and prizes, it was awesome. Everything went so smoothly even I was shocked!! I have not put any party photos up yet but I will soon.
So I was thinking about maybe becoming a creative memories consultant. For those of you who don't know what that is, it's selling scrapbook supplies and teaching workshops and doing parties... very similar to a tupperware kind of set up. I love scrapbooking, and we really need some extra money. Has anyone done this or know anyone who does? Pros? Cons? I need to really think about this, because it does cost some money to start up... we'll have to see what happens.
Well, the housework isn't going to do itself so I suppose I should get at it. We're having friends over for dinner tonight, so... lots to do!
Deep breath. Today is the big day... the Kid Party. I'm a little nervous about everything coming together and working out, I'm a little behind with what I wanted to have done already... but I think everything will go well. Pinata is decorated and filled, cupcakes are made, prizes are ready, almost everything is bought as far as decorations and food. Here's what we still have to do... and the party is at four:
Take a shower, get Maya in the bath, get dressed.
Run to the store to get some last minute items: Sprinkles for the cupcakes, string for the pinata and some of the decorations, an extra roll of tape, helium balloons, plastic spoons, ice.
Tidy up and decorate party area. Set up prize table. Set up games.
Put the food out on trays and plates, make PBJ sandwiches, ice and drinks in cooler.
Um... I'm sure there's more that will pop up, and I am cutting it kind of close time wise, but I have hubby and my friend to help with everything. So... I guess I should get my butt off the computer and get started!!
So... where to start??
Maya's birthday... ah, yes. I spent the whole day before cleaning my house and being stressed but excited at the same time. Stressed because my parents were coming over, and my parents are clean freaks, and well... I'm not. I'm not a slob or anything but they take clean to a whole new level. Stressed because my Mom and Brian don'yt exactly get a long. My Dad and Brian get along great, but not so with my mother. Excited for the obvious reasons... it was my daughter's birthday, she was so excited, loving the decorations and cake and presents, and everything else that goes along with getting another year older. Ah to be a kid again!! Then again, I'm only 25, not quite at that age where you start to dread birthdays. Anyway... what was I saying.. ah yes. Stressed about making dinner for everyone and having it turn out ok, we had 5 adults a kid and a baby there for dinner. Of course I went with the easiest thing... and Maya's favorite... Angel hair pasta and a traditional red sauce. Yummy.
Well, everything went great! My house was clean, My mom and Brian got along great... they were actually having great conversations and everything. Maya had a blast and loved everything. It was awesome.
Today? My house is a mess! I have so much to do and so little time. Let's see... Tomorrow morning we are going to exchage a gift Maya got from her Aunt because it's broken. While there, Maya has some birthday money to spend. I also need to go food shopping for our house and for Maya's kid party. Tomorrow evening I volunteer at Kid's Closet, a program at this Church I go to that helps take donations and gives free clothes to kid's in the area who can't afford them. It's really cool actually, the parents and kids come in and basically shop for free.
Saturday I have to help clean my neighbors house to get ready for Maya's Kid party, and bake cupcakes the rest of the day. Sunday is Maya's party.
So someone tell me, when the heck is my house going to get clean???? Oh wait... I DO have a husband, don't I?? He doesn't work weekends... heh heh. :)
Well it seems my break is over for now... time to give Kiddo a bath!! Hope everyone has a great weekend :)
Well, my little girl is officially 5!!! Yay! Today was her birthday and we had a "family" party at my house. Photos here! Two pages of new photos, including today's birthday pics and some of our Halloween decorations.
Sunday is her "kid" party... so excited.
Once again I am short on time, but I promise to start posting more soon :)
Just a quick post to let you all know I am still here... had a slight computer problem, all better now!!
More soon!!
It's already afternoon and I am still in my jammies. Must take shower. Must get motivated to "start" my day. Why is it that I don't feel like my day has started unless I am showered and dressed?
Maya is being a Pirate for halloween! I'm so excited. I always let her pick, and - no offense to cheerleaders or former cheerleaders - This is so much better than what she picked last year. We already have the pirate hat, a clip on hoop earing, a sword, an eye patch, a hook, and face paints for the mustache and goatee. We still need black pants, a blousy looking shirt, and a red shash belt looking thing.
Wow... this is going to be a fun month. Maya's birthday party, her 2 family parties, we get to go trick or treating twice (once here the sat. before halloween and once on halloween night at her grandparents house), and her friend down the street is having a halloween party. We're also visiting a friend's relatives working farm, and the pumpkin patch of course. I love October!! and it isn't even HERE yet!!
Speaking of halloween, I bought some decorations for outside that I can't wait to put out...
Man I am in SUCH a good mood now just thinking about all of this that I think I will go get my shower and then head out to get myself a yummy pumpkin spice latte. Mmm Mmm good.
